"Howdy Folks! Welcome to Golden!" greets you as you enter Golden.  For a small town, there is plenty to do and see.  Downtown Golden is filled with shops, restaurants and live music.  It is the home of Coors Brewery, which offers tours daily.  It has the Colorado Railroad Museum, Golden History Museum, Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum and American Mountaineering Museum.   For outdoor enthusiasts, Clear Creek runs through the center of town and offers whitewater rafting and excellent fishing.  Golden has miles of hiking trails and stellar rock climbing.  Golden sits at the bottom of the foothills and is just a quick drive to being in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.

Golden hosts a number of community events including a holiday candlelight walk, chili cook-off and Buffalo Bill days.

Colorado School of Mines, a leading university specializing in engineering and applied sciences was founded in Golden in 1874. Elementary through high schools rate highly in the area.
